Campgrounds of North Cascades
These campgrounds actually lie with Ross Lake National Recreation Area, which is part of the mix of National Park Service lands managed as the North Cascades National Park Complex. Ross Lake NRA is where the majority of visitors spend their time.
Colonial Creek Campground (North and South)
Size & Cost: 142 sites, $24 per site
Open: May through September

Location: Along the North Cascades Scenic Highway 10.5 miles east of Newhalem
Amenities: Running water, flush toilets, fire rings and picnic tables, dump station
Demand: High. This campground has sites on the shore of Diablo Lake, and is very popular in the summer.
Goodell Creek Campground
Size & Cost: 19 sites, $20 per site
Open: All Year (primitive outside May-September)
Reservations: Online at recreation.gov
Location: Along the North Cascades Scenic Highway 0.5 miles west of Newhalem
Amenities: Running water, vault toilets, fire rings and picnic tables
Demand: Medium. Goodell Creek is small, with fewer services than the larger Newhalem Creek Campground nearby. It sometimes fills in peak season.
Newhalem Creek Campground
Size & Cost: 107 sites, $24 per site
Open: May through September
Reservations: Online at recreation.gov
Location: Along the North Cascades Scenic Highway in Newhalem
Amenities: Running water, flush toilets, fire rings and picnic tables, dump station
Demand: High. This campground is well situated and quite busy during the summer season. Reservations are suggested.
