Campgrounds of Glacier
Glacier has a large number of campgrounds spread out all over the different regions of the park. Despite this large number, sites can be very hard to find in the summer season, and advance planning is necessary.
Apgar Campground
Size & Cost: 194 sites, $23 per site
Open: All Year (primitive in winter)
Reservations: May through September, online at recreation.gov
Location: In Apgar Village, 2.5 miles from the west entrance off Going-to-the-Sun Road
Amenities: Running water, flush toilets, fire rings and picnic tables, dump station
Demand: Very high. Apgar normally fills every day in the summer season, usually in the afternoon.
Avalanche Campground
Size & Cost: 87 sites, $20 per site
Open: June through September
Reservations: No, first come, first served
Location: 16.3 miles from the west entrance off Going-to-the-Sun Road
Amenities: Running water, flush toilets, fire rings and picnic tables, dump station
Demand: Very high. Avalanche normally fills every day in the summer season, usually in the afternoon.
Bowman Lake Campground
Size & Cost: 48 sites, $15 per site
Open: May through September
Reservations: No, first come, first served
Location: 32.5 miles north of the west entrance via the very rough and unpaved North Fork Road
Amenities: Running water, vault toilets, fire rings and picnic tables
Demand: Medium. Bowman Lake sometimes fills in the summer, usually in late afternoon.
Cut Bank Campground
Size & Cost: 14 sites, $10 per site
Open: June through September
Reservations: No, first come, first served
Location: 5 miles east of US-89 via the unpaved Cut Bank Road
Amenities: Vault toilets, fire rings and picnic tables – there is no fresh water
Demand: Medium. Cut Bank is remote and quite small, and sometimes fills in the summer, usually in late afternoon.
Fish Creek Campground
Size & Cost: 178 sites, $23 per site
Open: June through September
Reservations: Late May through early September, online at recreation.gov
Location: On Camas Road, 2.4 miles west of Going-to-the-Sun Road
Amenities: Running water, flush toilets, fire rings and picnic tables, dump station, showers
Demand: Very high. Fish Creek is the only reservation campground on the west side of the park. It nearly always fills, usually by late morning. Reservations are strongly suggested.
Kintla Lake Campground
Size & Cost: 13 sites, $15 per site
Open: June through September

Location: 40 miles north of the west entrance via the very rough and unpaved North Fork Road
Amenities: Running water, vault toilets, fire rings and picnic tables
Demand: Medium. Kintla Lake often fills in the summer, usually in late afternoon.
Logging Creek Campground
Size & Cost: 7 sites, $10 per site
Open: July through September
Reservations: No, first come, first served
Location: 28 miles north of the west entrance via the very rough and unpaved North Fork Road
Amenities: Vault toilets, fire rings and picnic tables – there is no fresh water
Demand: Low. Although Logging Creek is very small, it rarely fills.
Many Glacier Campground
Size & Cost: 109 sites, $23 per site
Open: June through September
Reservations: Online at recreation.gov
Location: At the end of the Many Glacier Road
Amenities: Running water, flush toilets, fire rings, picnic tables, dump station, showers, campstore
Demand: Extreme. Many Glacier is very popular, and always fills in summer, often by 9AM.
Quartz Creek Campground
Size & Cost: 7 sites, $10 per site
Open: July through October
Reservations: No, first come, first served
Location: 30 miles north of the west entrance via the very rough and unpaved North Fork Road
Amenities: Vault toilets, fire rings and picnic tables – there is no fresh water
Demand: Low. Although Quartz Creek is very small, it rarely fills.
Rising Sun Campground
Size & Cost: 84 sites, $20 per site
Open: June through September
Reservations: No, first come, first served
Location: 6.0 miles from the east entrance off Going-to-the-Sun Road
Amenities: Running water, flush toilets, fire rings, picnic tables, dump station, showers, campstore
Demand: Very high. Rising Sun nearly always fills, usually by late morning.
Sprague Creek Campground
Size & Cost: 25 sites, $23 per site
Open: May through September

Location: 9.8 miles from the west entrance of Going-to-the-Sun Road
Amenities: Running water, flush toilets, fire rings and picnic tables
Demand: Extreme. Sprague Creek is quite small and very popular, and always fills in summer, often by mid-morning.
Saint Mary Campground
Size & Cost: 148 sites, $23 per site

Two Medicine Campground
Size & Cost: 100 sites, $20 per site

Location: At the end of the Two Medicine Road
Amenities: Running water, flush toilets, fire rings and picnic tables, dump station, campstore
Demand: High. Two Medicine usually fills during the summer season, often by noon.
