Sleeping in or near Capitol Reef

Capitol Reef National Park has no lodging inside the park boundaries. Most of the park is very remote, but the main developed area is close to the town of Torrey. Richfield is the nearest city of any size, located along Interstate 70.

Torrey overnight lodging options

The small town of Torrey is located just a few miles west of the park boundary along Utah Highway 24. A limited amount of all services can be found here. There is a good amount of lodging here, consisting mostly of independent motels and inns, as well as some vacation rentals.

Richfield overnight lodging options

Richfield is the largest city in the sparsely populated south-central Utah area, with a population of about 7,500. Due to this, and its location along Interstate 70, it has a variety of services larger than most cities this size would. There are several good lodging options here. It will take over an hour to reach Capitol Reef from this area, but it is well placed for a day visit, or for a place to stay the day before or after your visit.
