Campgrounds of Acadia
Acadia National Park has two main campgrounds, both very large. Despite this, Acadia is one of the most visited parks in the United States in the summer months. Open sites are a rare thing during this period. Both are located in wooded areas. Neither has any ocean views.
Blackwoods Campground
Size & Cost: 306 sites, $30 per site
Open: All Year (primitive in winter)
Reservations: Required, online at recreation.gov
Location: Just off of ME-3 five miles south of Bar Harbor
Amenities: Running water, flush toilets, fire rings and picnic tables, showers and campstore nearby
Demand: Very high. The campground is often full, and in peak season, mid-June to mid-August, it will almost certainly be.
Seawall Campground
Size & Cost: 214 sites, $22-30 per site
Open: May through mid-October
Reservations: Required, online at recreation.gov
Location: Off of ME-102A four miles south of Southwest Harbor
