The summers in the Biscayne National Park area are generally hot, with high humidity and frequent afternoon thunderstorms. Winters are usually mild and dry, but windy. South Florida typically has a dry season that runs December to April and a wet season which lasts the rest of the year. The large majority of visitation and activities takes place in the dry season.
