Campgrounds of Everglades
There are two developed campgrounds in the Everglades National Park frontcountry. One is near the entrance, the other is all the way at the end of the road.
Flamingo Campground
Size & Cost: 274 sites, $30-$45 per site
Open: All Year
Reservations: December through April, reserve online
Location: At the end of the Main Park Road 39.1 miles from the entrance
Amenities: Running water, flush toilets, solar-heated showers, grills and picnic tables, dump station
Demand: High. Flamingo Campground lies at the end of the road, past the visitor center and located alongside Florida Bay. In the busy winter season it is quite popular and should be reserved in advance. During the summer some of the campground closes.
Long Pine Key Campground
Size & Cost: 108 sites, $30-$35 per site
Open: November through April
Reservations: Reserve online
Location: On a side road off the Main Park Road 5 miles from the entrance
Amenities: Running water, flush toilets, grills and picnic tables, dump station
Demand: High. Long Pine Key Campground is much closer to the park entrance, and the very popular Royal Palm area. It also tends to be a lot quieter than the Flamingo Campground, which can be a bit rowdy at times. Unlike Flamingo, it closes completely in the offseason.
