Sleeping in or near Everglades

Everglades National Park has had no lodging inside the park boundaries since the old Flamingo Lodge, formerly located at the end of the Main Park Road, suffered severe hurricane damage. A new facility has been under construction for some time, but is not yet open as of November 2022. Its status and future reservations can be found here.

The surrounding area is loaded with lodging options. The cities of Homestead and Florida City are the closest to the park. We discuss these two areas below. The enormous Miami area begins about 25 miles north of the park and offers literally hundreds of hotels.
