Campgrounds of Guadalupe Mountains
There are two developed campgrounds in Guadalupe Mountains National Park. One is near the only frontcountry area of the park, Pine Springs. The other is a long drive to a remote but popular area.
Dog Canyon Campground
Size & Cost: 15 sites, $20 per site
Open: All Year
Reservations: Online at recreation.gov
Location: At the Dog Canyon Entrance, 65 miles south of Carlsbad, NM
Amenities: Running water, flush toilets, and picnic tables – no fires are allowed
Demand: High. This campground is in the remote Dog Canyon area but is very small, and often fills.
Pine Springs Campground
Size & Cost: 35 sites, $20 per site
Open: All Year
Reservations: Online at recreation.gov
Location: Just off of US-62/US-180 near the visitor center
Amenities: Running water, flush toilets, and picnic tables – no fires are allowed
Demand: High. This campground is in the small developed area near the visitor center, and is often full during peak visitation. 20 sites are available for tents, in partially shaded juniper and oak forest. 13 RV sites are essentially marked spaces in a parking area.
