Campgrounds of Lassen Volcanic
There are developed campgrounds in many different areas of Lassen Volcanic National Park, covering all of the commonly visited areas. Most developed is Manzanita Lake, on the north end of the Lassen Park Highway.
Butte Lake Campground
Size & Cost: 101 sites, $22 per site
Open: June through October

Location: 6 miles down a dirt road off of CA-44
Amenities: Running water, flush toilets, fire rings and picnic tables
Demand: Medium. This campground is large and down an unpaved road. Sites are more often than not available.
Juniper Lake Campground
Size & Cost: 18 sites, $12 per site
Open: July through October
Reservations: No, first come, first served
Location: Off the unpaved Juniper Lake Road 13 miles north of the town of Chester
Amenities: Vault toilets, fire rings and picnic tables – there is no fresh water
Demand: Medium. This campground is small but quite remote, and is sometimes full in high summer season.
Manzanita Lake Campground
Size & Cost: 179 sites, $26 per site
Open: May through October

Location: Off of Lassen Park Highway 1.2 miles south of the Manzanita Lake Entrance
Amenities: Running water, flush toilets, fire rings, picnic tables, showers, dump station, camp store
Demand: Very high. This is the most popular campground in the park, and often fills in summer.
Southwest Campground
Size & Cost: 20 sites, $10-16 per site
Open: All Year
Reservations: No, first come, first served
Location: Off of Lassen Park Highway 1 mile north of the Southwest Entrance
Amenities: Running water and flush toilets May through September, fire rings and picnic tables
Demand: Medium. This campground is small, and available on a walk-in basis only.
Summit Lake North & South Campgrounds
Size & Cost: 94 sites, $24 per site
Open: July through September
Reservations: Reserve Online – North or Reserve Online – South
Location: Off of Lassen Park Highway 13.3 miles south of the Manzanita Lake Entrance
Amenities: Running water, flush toilets, fire rings and picnic tables
Demand: High. These campgrounds are the most centrally located, and are often full during peak summer season.
Warner Valley Campground
Size & Cost: 17 sites, $21 per site
Open: June through October

Location: Off the unpaved Warner Valley Road 17 miles north of the town of Chester
Amenities: Running water, vault toilets, fire rings and picnic tables
Demand: High. This campground is small and remote, but in a popular area. It often fills in summer.
