Sleeping in or near Rocky Mountain

Rocky Mountain National Park has no lodging inside the park boundaries. Estes Park, the town on the eastern side of the park, has a large number of lodging options. Grand Lake, on the “quiet” west side of the park, also has several options.

Estes Park overnight lodging options

The town of Estes Park is just outside the main section of the park on the east side, and provides full services, including lodging. Estes Park offers services all year, although they are much reduced in the winter months, and many places are closed.

Grand Lake overnight lodging options

On the west side, the town of Grand Lake is adjacent to the park and the western end of Trail Ridge Road. Grand Lake has fewer choices than Estes Park, but is also less crowded. The eastern side of the park is not accessible from Grand Lake outside of summer time. The ski community of Winter Park is less than an hour from the Grand Lake Entrance as well.
